Challenger, 20 years later…

January 30, 2006

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3077897/There’s something that has annoyed me for a while called Where were you when…., where you got to hear stories of what people were doing the day that particular event happened…. No one expected it, and because I’d never seen a shuttle launch before, I didn’t know that wasn’t supposed to happen.Click on the link above, and read through this piece, as it is very interesting. One last thing: Because of a busy schedule and BS going on in my life, I’ve had to postpone the last articles for the Dream Machines until later this week.

Many Apologies

January 29, 2006

I apologize for being grumpy, forgetting who you are or just being dull tonight – going to bed after I post this. I hope you had fun at the show, and I hope to see more of you at LT’s on the 18th for some Smokin’ Cocoa-Puffs.

Puzzled Monkey and Smoking Cocoa Puffs

January 28, 2006

If you’re wondering what to do and you’re near the Finish Line in Machesney Park, IL…… And you’re into some good rock music from the 70’s on (think AC/DC, Beastie Boys, GodSmack, Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, and many more), come and see a couple of the best cover bands in the area.

Dream Machines parts 3, 4, 1st tutorial Delayed

January 27, 2006

The first tutorial is delayed until the end of February (at the latest.)… the tutorial will be done in PDF Format, free for everyone, and will contain a number of files to get you started.

Coming Attractions, Part 1…

January 25, 2006

It would be geared towards new people and people interested in either AppleScripting or Photoshop, and will be focusing on creating interface classes and interfacing with outside apps, like Photoshop CS 2…. (As I said above, my main focus is on the Mac side, due to the AppleScripting, but I don’t want to leave the PC users out in the cold either.)

Dream Machines, Part 2: The Fun Projects

January 24, 2006

I was originally going to only add developer and production machines, and upgrade what I currently have, but after exploring a few other options, I think it’s safe to say a lot of those ideas would be out the door. I’m going to explore which ideas I would be buying new machines for, which ideas will work with a different machine, and which ones either get kicked to the curb or given away.

Dream Machines, Part 1: Hardware

What kind of mad computer lab would you set up? Here’s the start of mine.

A few sites I find very entertaining…Here are a few sites I’ve recently found – and love visiting…. This squirrel has attitude, http://www.newgrounds.com/ Home to Foamy, Searching for Souls, all sorts of crazy flash cartoons, a punking of a reviewer, and the GD Dancing Banana!

Not so favorite things about forums

January 19, 2006

When I first got online back 96, I mainly avoided forums and the like, sticking to chat rooms because I could understand that better…. I learned three things prior to kicking myself off (aka getting in trouble) a few years later: Some people have that magical ability to make enough time to be complete and utter dicks who can waste everyone else’s time by pissing us off.

Blogging Thoughts

January 19, 2006

It’s not that they aren’t justified, it’s that they abuse it, waving it around like a banner, making it sound like Grandma and Grandpa Jones, Kid Billy Joe and that sweet old lady that visits the store is a thief in disguise…. Most of all, though, they need to be allowed to take advantage of the new things available, for they’re eventually going to be the ones pushing out the new technology.

Hit the Movies

January 18, 2006

Not true, but not unfair in the least – I’ll admit that the previews do tell me whether or not I see a movie, as my time, because of how I currently live, is somewhat precious, and so is my money…. So, since I’ve been planning on getting a few lists together, I figure right now is a good time to challenge: Tell me 5 movies you think everyone should see and why.

Three More Words…

January 17, 2006

If you watched last night’s “24″, you know what they are! So Jack goes from being stuck to being a hostage to being a hero to being arrested.

A Big Battle

January 16, 2006

Don’t get me wrong, I think the fact that we shove “beauty” over “healthy” is just as disturbing, but the fact that we, as people, would rather give up on being healthy and accept the fact that we’re overweight than to do something to make ourselves healthy and happy is mind-boggling…. I hate when you give suggestions on how to lose weight, or tell me to “Get this operation” or “Do this” – many of you have never been my size, have not been through what I have gone through, and don’t know what I do.
